#2 Recommendations of Siem Reap

Hiiiii It's Mayuko
In general I write every articles in Japanese but today I kinda want to write it in English for the first time haha
Well, if you want to see Cambodia's world site heritages, definitely you'll visit to Siem Reap.
Siem Reap is a good city. It was calm and comfortable even though it's famous for Angkor ruins. So I'll show you recommendations of Siem Reap!

1, The average cost

For example if you book a nice hotel room in Tokyo only one day, it'll cost about $40〜60 or more one person. But in Siem Reap, you can stay in beautiful villas or hotels and it was $10〜30 for one day!!! So, if you stay a hotel in seven days, it'll cost about $70 or more. So the average cost of Siem Reap is so cheap, compare to Tokyo.

But I want to say that it's not only cheap, you can find many beautiful and nice villas or hotels.
I booked a hotel that name is Chez Moi Suite. This hotel was amazing. The room was so clean and comfortable. And also employees are kind and helpful, also theirs Tuk Tuk drivers! You can book this beautiful hotel from Airbnb and other booking sites.

2, Restaurants and Cafes

You can go to many nice restaurants and cafes in Siem Reap.
For restaurants, you should absolutely go to Khmer Grill. It's famous and the best restaurant in Siem Reap.
This is Khmer foods, Lok Lak
It was really delicious food, and Khmer Grill is not a expensive restaurant. I could eat Lok Lak $3〜4, but the other ripoff restaurants cost about $7〜10 and actually those restaurants weren't delicious haha
So highly recommend to go to Khmer Grill. This restaurant will be your favorite.

This is Brown coffee and bakery. I think there were two shops in Siem Reap. Brown coffee and bakery is like a Cambodian starbacks. The cafe is lovely.

I actually don't remember this cafe's name... haha but it was in the center of Pub street. In fact, you'll see many restaurants and cafes in Pub street, I think that it's good to go to the shops by your intuition.

3, Kampong pluk

Kampong pluk is a floating village, it's in Tonle Sap Lake. You can easily go to there from Siem Reap. It was an interesting village.

They eat crocodiles who live in Kampong pluk. ↓ This crocodile was very huge

Well, I didn't eat a crocodile. I mean I couldn't...haha
But if you wanna go to Kampong pluk, my suggestion is you mustn't eat and drink here. Because I went to some local restaurant and I actually got an upset stomach. Generally I love to eat in local restaurants, but after I got a problem from that I thought I have to care about it more. So if you'll go to Kampong pluk you'll have to be careful about what you eat, or you should bring some medicen just in case.

4, Ruins

Khmer ruins are really amazing!
Yes, you should absolutely go.
If you'll go, you have to get a ticket. You'll say to Tuk Tuk driver, they can take you to ticket booth. It costs about 37 dollars for one day, 62 dollars for 3 days, and 72 dollars for one week.
This ticket is not only Angkor Wat. You can use go to Angkor Thom, Banteay Srei, Preah Khan, and more temples. Each ticket has an expiration date, only 1 day is 1 day, 3 days are 1 week, and 7 days are 1 month.

In this country there was an empire with a great history so I really wanted to visit. After I saw it and came back , I still feel like Cambodia has a great culture and great people.
So here are my recommendations! Does anybody has questions? I can answer you!

Thank you❤️
